Quick Poll

So it seems that we have a few members living in Canada who signed up without letting us know they were out of the US. They're respected bloggers and Hope and I have been discussing whether or not we should open the tours to Canada bloggers. My main issue is the shipping - I'm not sure how much it is but Hope said it wasn't much more than shipping to the US. Since it'll be the members shipping the books, I want your input:

Would you be willing to ship books to Canada as part of the tour?

I'm all for shipping to Canada. I've sent many things there in past and Hope is right it doesn't cost much. Its very similar to sending a book cross country. Where Canadian rates are high is between Canadian provinces.

I do not have a problem with it as long as shipping costs do not get too expensive. I say let's try at least on a trial basis, and if it doesn't work out then at least you tried.

Sending from the US to Canada is only a dollar or two more than sending it within the US, so I'm okay with it. However, I know that sending from Canada to US can cost close to 10 dollars, so it's really up to the Canadian bloggers if they're okay with that.

No problem here either. I know we don't have a lot of money right now, but I only tend to ship to Canada occasionally which is cool, once my parents see the load of books that come in. It only cost a couple bucks more, anyway. So I'm in!

Well, in theory it won't be the same people shipping to Canada every tour anyway. So, we'll probably only have to ship to Canada a few times, so if the bloggers in Canada are willing to pay more to ship them back then why not!

The last time I shipped something it was only about two dollars more than shipping in the US so I have no problem with it.

I'd prefer to not have to ship to Canada, but I can if needed.

There's some great Canadian bloggers out there and it wouldn't be fair to exclude them.

I don't think I would mind. It wouldn't be the same people every time so I think it would work. I would ask the Canadian folks though - it is more expensive to ship to the US from Canada.

I would have no problem sending things out once in a while. But not very frequently.

I'm fine with it. It can't be nearly as expensive as when I ship stuff to my friend in Melbourne.

I send stuff internationally through bookmooch all the time, so I don't mind shipping to our friends to the north at all :-)

I send stuff back and forth all the time, i am from Canada and I don't mind paying the extra shipping at all.

We should cultivate the love between the U.S. and Canada. I'm for shipping to the north!

It won't be the same people shipping to Canada all of the time, so I don't mind it :)

I have no problem shipping to Canada, like others have said, it's really not that much more.
I think the main question that should be asked though is: Do the Canadian bloggers mind shipping to the US? Shipping within Canada can be quite expensive. I once got a book shipped to me from Canada and it costed the sender $9 to ship.
I don't mind shipping to Canada though, I think they should be included also.

Why not expand the reach. I think it would be great.

Whatever. Go Canadians!

like everyone keeps saying, as long as the shipping price isn't too high, then why not? :)

Go Canadians! Yep, I'm willing!

I think that would be fine. I'm with Kate on this one. If it doesn't work out then it doesn't work out. It's worth a try and I think the Canadian bloggers would appreciate it.

I would prefer not to have to, but since it won't be every time, I'm fine with it.

I don't want to be the mean person to say 'No' but I'd rather not. (maybe this poll should have been one of the anonymous ones). If you come to the conclusion that you will include Canada, then I guess that it'll be 'OK'. Maybe you can arrange it that people who say 'Yes' to shipping to the Canadian bloggers can ship the books to them. If not, I'll be fine with it. I'd rather not, but it's ok...
